Mi Apa Latin Café opened its newest location at Oaks Mall on Thursday.
Located in the food court, the café offers Cuban food conveniently to shoppers, travelers from I-75, and those working at the surrounding businesses.
The Oaks Mall location at 6419 W. Newberry Rd. is the latest expansion in the last three years for Mi Apa, which also includes locations in Jonesville, the Retz Union on the University of Florida’s campus and a food truck.
“The opportunity to open at the Oaks Mall was presented to us and it was a perfect fit for us,” said Peter Ynigo, founder of Mi Apa Latin Café. “We’ve offered great food with great service for over two decades. To be asked to expand within our community again is a testament to the mission we have and the incredible team we have achieving it.”
Mi Apa’s first store opened in 2003 in West Gate Shopping Center on the corner of 34th St. and University Avenue and has been thriving ever since.
Ate there opening day. Prices are the same as they are in their other locations. Portions are the same. Food quality is the same. A good alternative to the regular ‘mall food’ and welcomed addition. A+
