ACPS students earn awards at International Science and Engineering Fair

Two Alachua County Public Schools (ACPS) students earned awards at the Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) that took place from May 11-17 in Los Angeles.

Buchholz High School’s Nathan Wei took second place in the Chemistry Division and Gainesville High School’s Abhith Kasala finished third in the Earth and Environmental Science Division.

Sophia Rong from Buchholz also competed at ISEF after being named a grand winner in the Florida State Science and Engineering Fair held in April.

The event drew almost 2,000 students representing 49 states and nearly 70 countries, territories and regions across the world, according to the ISEF website.
