Update: Farm Share event in Gainesville canceled

UPDATE (Thursday, Nov. 16, 2:30 p.m.): Farm Share announced on Thursday afternoon that its Friday morning food distribution event at Project Youthbuild in Gainesville will be canceled due to unforeseen staff illness and questionable weather conditions.

Farm Share will be distributing food to food-insecure Floridians in the Gainesville area on Friday morning.

The event be from 9 a.m. until supplies last at Project Youthbuild (635 NW 6th St.).

Recipients will receive non-perishable canned goods and fresh produce. Distributions will be drive-thru only to minimize contact for safety of all parties. People wanting food are required to arrive in a vehicle with a trunk or cargo bed.

Farm Share, Florida’s leading food nonprofit and the state’s largest food bank,distributes food to the community with food pantries, churches, homeless shelters, senior centers and soup kitchens statewide free of charge.
