The Free To Fly Trail 5K fundraiser for helping restore lives impacted by human trafficking and exploitation is scheduled at San Felasco Park in Alachua on Saturday.
The benefit event will start at 8 a.m.at 13201 Progress Blvd. The cost is $30 and registration ends at 11:59 p.m. on Thursday, April 3. Click here to sign up.
Anew (formerly Created Gainesville) will host the 5K, which features a scenic trail designed for participants of all ages and fitness levels, making it an inclusive event for walkers and runners.
The 5K will have official timing from start To finish, free t-shirts, photo opportunities, refreshments, and a wonderful atmosphere for creating lasting memories with friends, family, and colleagues.
All proceeds from the 5K will directly benefit Anew’s mission and survivor care programs, including its safe home, the only one of its kind in North Central Florida, which opened in March 2022.
The safe home provides life-changing support to survivors of human trafficking, offering an 18- to 24-month program designed to restore hope and help participants rebuild their lives. Florida ranks third in the nation for human trafficking, with a large percentage of victims being women and girls. Anew’s programs help break the cycle of abuse and ensure survivors have the chance to thrive.
Sponsorship opportunities are available for those looking to support this important cause. Sponsorship levels include Platinum ($2,500), Gold ($1,000), Silver ($500), and Bronze ($250), each offering various perks such as event booth opportunities, logo placement on event signage, and recognition on social media.
