Motorcyclist injured in I-75 collision with SUV in Gainesville

A 19-year-old Wesley Chapel, Florida, man is in critical condition after his motorcycle rear-ended an SUV on Interstate 75 near the Newberry exit on Friday night.

According to a Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) release, the Wesley Chapel man was driving his motorcycle at a high rate of speed southbound on I-75 near mile marker 387 at 11:20 p.m. when he failed to slow down and collided with a 53-year-old Gainesville man driving an SUV driving in front of him. The motorcyclist was ejected onto the roadway.

Emergency responders transported the Wesley Chapel man to a hospital where he is in critical condition.
